Wimmer Haus Productions is the brainchild of Lauren Alfaro Wimmer — a Philadelphia-based criminal defense attorney who found that the courtroom and the camera ask the same essential question: what does it mean to be human under pressure?
Lauren's legal practice has placed her at the center of some of the most consequential and intimate moments in people's lives. That proximity to real stakes, real consequence, and real humanity is the foundation everything here is built on. The stories that matter most are rarely the tidy ones.
Wimmer Haus was founded on a conviction that independent film is one of the few spaces left where those untidy, complicated, morally alive stories can be told without apology. We are a well-capitalized production company with the resources and ambition to attract top-tier talent and bring serious projects to life at the highest level.
Based in Philadelphia, we produce narrative features, short films, and documentary work — partnering with writers, directors, and established talent who share our commitment to stories that matter.
Creative Philosophy
Story first.
Every decision — casting, location, format — flows from the needs of the story. We resist the impulse to impose a visual or commercial logic that the material hasn't earned.
Collaboration over hierarchy.
We work with filmmakers, not for them. The best productions are built on genuine creative partnership, where every voice at the table has weight.
Patience as a practice.
Good work takes time. We'd rather develop a project for three years and get it right than rush something into production before it's ready.
